1. Bankruptcy Judge Approves Montefiore Medical Center's Bid for Westchester Square Medical Center
A U.S. bankruptcy judge approved Bronx, N.Y.-based Montefiore Medical Center's bid to acquire New York Westchester Square Medical Center in the Bronx.

2. Jordan Health Systems to Join Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center
Jordan Health Systems in Plymouth, Mass., and Boston-based Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center announced plans for JHS to become part of BIDMC.

3.Tenet Healthcare Announces Joint Venture Between San Ramon Regional Med Center, John Muir Health

Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare announced the formation of a joint venture partnership between its San Ramon (Calif.) Regional Medical Center and John Muir Health in Walnut Creek, Calif.

4. 3 Maryland Hospitals Announce Discussions to Pursue Potential Alliance
Frederick (Md.) Regional Health System, Meritus Health in Hagerstown, Md., and Western Maryland Health System in Cumberlandsigned a memorandum of understanding to enter into strategic discussions for an affiliation.

5. Northwest Community in Illinois Seeking Possible Partnerships
Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights, Ill., confirmed that it is exploring partnership possibilities with other hospitals and health systems.

6. Competing Offer Threatens Montefiore Med Center's Acquisition of N.Y. Westchester Square Med Center
A group of real-estate investors submitted a bid for New York Westchester Square Medical Center in the Bronx, challenging Bronx, N.Y.-based Montefiore Medical Center's agreement to acquire the financially struggling hospital.

Naperville, Ill.-based Edward Hospital & Health Services and Elmhurst (Ill.) Memorial Healthcare announced plans to merge, which would create one of the larger integrated health systems in the state.
