1. Trinity Health to acquire Saint Francis Care
Livonia, Mich.-based Trinity Health signed a definitive agreement to acquire Saint Francis Care, a three-hospital system based in Hartford, Conn.

2. Rockford Health System, Mercy Health System merger receives go-ahead
The merger between Janesville, Wis.-based Mercy Health System and Rockford (Ill.) Health System was approved, creating a regional health system that will provide healthcare services to patients in northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin.

3. 102-year-old hospital in New Jersey sells for $26M
Runnells Specialized Hospital, a 102-year-old facility in Berkeley Heights, N.J., was sold to Center Management Group in Flushing, N.Y., for $26 million.

4. Northern Westchester Hospital to join North Shore-LIJ Health System
Northern Westchester Hospital in Mount Kisco, N.Y., is set to join North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System in Manhasset, N.Y., under an agreement signed by both organizations.

5. Baptist Health to form joint venture with Tenet subsidiary
Birmingham, Ala.-based Baptist Health System signed an exclusive, non-binding letter of intent to form a jointly owned company with 645-bed Brookwood Medical Center in Birmingham, a subsidiary of Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare.
