1. Reading Health System, UPMC Health Plan reveal insurance venture
Reading (Pa.) Health System and UPMC Health Plan finalized an agreement to form a provider-payer joint venture beginning Jan 1. 

2. Kingwood Medical Center partners with obstetric hospitalist group
Kingwood (Texas) Medical Center partnered with Mauldin, S.C.-based Ob Hospitalist Group, a national physician group specializing in the development, staffing and management of hospital-based OB-GYN practices.

3. Cole Memorial Hospital, U of Rochester cancer centers to partner
The Patterson Cancer Center at Coudersport, Pa.-based Cole Memorial Hospital and the University of Rochester (N.Y.) Medical Center’s Wilmot Cancer Institute divulged plans to collaborate on an initiative to enhance cancer care for communities in northern Pennsylvania.

4. Freeman Health System to affiliate with Girard Medical Center
Joplin, Mo.-based Freeman Health System declared its intent to affiliate with Girard (Kan.) Medical Center to provide quality care to the communities served by both organizations.
