Here are three things to know about Dr. Schecter and his career.
1. Dr. Schecter previously served as CMO at UC Los Angeles Medical Center, Santa Monica, and as an associate professor of surgery at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UC Los Angeles.
2. In 2003, he was named CMO of Everett, Wash.-based Providence Regional Medical Center.
3. Dr. Schecter has also received a variety of teaching awards during his 30-year career.
In addition to Dr. Schecter’s appointment, the university hired Kevin Murray, MD; Farion Williams, MD; and Dawn DeWitt, MD, to serve in the same position at the medical school’s Vancouver, Tri-Cities and Spokane campuses, all in Washington.
