Here are four things to know about Dr. Lucey and her career.
1. In her new role, Dr. Lucey will assist and counsel UC San Francisco School of Medicine Dean Talmadge King Jr., MD, on matters that fall within and outside of her educational scope.
2. Officials said Dr. Lucey will continue to serve as the vice dean of education for the medical school in addition to her role as vice dean.
3. She initially joined the institution in 2011.
4. She is also a member of the board of directors for the Association of American Medical Colleges and the American Board of Medical Specialties.
