UC San Diego Health to provide strategic management of El Centro Regional Medical Center

UC San Diego Health and the City of El Centro, Calif., have reached a new agreement in which the academic health system will provide strategic planning, management and consulting services to the El Centro Regional Medical Center board of trustees and hospital leadership.

Under the agreement, UC San Diego Health and ERCMC will align administrative expertise and business and clinical initiatives. Patients of ERCMC will have access to tertiary and quaternary care services at UC San Diego Health, such as specialized diagnostic, imaging, surgical, transplant, oncologic and cardiac services.

ECRMC is affiliated with UC San Diego Health Care Network, which includes UC San Diego Health and faculty physicians, community hospitals, medical groups and physicians based in San Diego, Riverside and Imperial counties. The affiliates in the network collaborate to develop systems, infrastructure, care pathways and quality initiatives to provide high-value healthcare.

ECRMC and UC San Diego Health are legally and financially independent and maintain separate hospital licenses. Under the agreement, ECRMC will continue to be governed by its board of trustees.
