The five physicians will still have privileges at the hospital. Southwest officials are also looking to renegotiate other physicians’ contracts, according to the report.
The main issue is money — the hospital is experiencing reimbursement cuts from Medicare and Medicaid, and could not afford to pay the employed physicians’ salaries, the report said.
