Members of the 230-physician organization unanimously voted to approve the proposed acquisition May 9. The group’s board of trustees approved the deal during a vote in April, according to the report.
A spokesperson for Reliant told the Worcester Business Journal Online the medical group does not have plans to terminate any of its 2,500 employees.
The organizations will move toward signing a definitive acquisition agreement. The proposed deal is subject to regulatory approval. If approved, Reliant will continue to be locally governed and retain its brand, according to the WBJO report.
