ZDoggMD joins athenahealth's 'Unbreak' healthcare campaign, drops new video

In his latest video, ZDoggMD outlines the challenges providers face in the current healthcare environment, specifically bringing back the humanization of care in the face of growing regulation. The video is a spoof on Eminem's "Lose Yourself."

"It's time we restored the primacy of the human relationship — that sacred analog heart of medicine — while re-personalizing care for that unique patient in front of us," reads a commentary accompanying the music video. "It's time to be evidence-empowered but no longer evidence-enslaved. It's time to get paid to just do the right thing for our unique patient, while enlisting science and technology to simultaneously personalize care and account for the larger systemic good."

The video is part of athenahealth's "Unbreak" campaign, which seeks to expose the failures of healthcare and then fix them.

In the video, ZDoggMD, whose real name is Zubin Damania, MD, raps about HCAHPS scores, physician burnout, interoperability challenges and mounting time pressures.

"Don't ever lose yourself in the system, the moment, you own it, you better never let it go. You only get one shot. Do not bow to status quo. This opportunity comes once in a lifetime," he raps.
