The employees are members of AFL-CIO, which recently notified the hospital of its plans to strike.
The union rejected the hospital’s most recent contract offer, citing increases in healthcare benefits and rules surrounding “early quit” days.
The hospital said its contract provided a “significant” pay increase of 13.2 percent over three years, and even with increases to insurance premiums, resulted in a net increase of 8.3 percent.
