For the survey, researchers polled 1,502 adults between Nov. 30 and Dec. 5 with a 2.9 percentage point margin of error, according to CBS News.
Here are six survey findings.
1. About 40 percent of respondents approve of Mr. Trump’s picks for Cabinet positions and other higher-level roles, and 55 percent disapprove of Mr. Trump’s explanation of future policies and plans.
2. A month after the 2008 presidential election, 71 percent of Americans approved
President Barack Obama’s high-level appointments, and 72 percent approved of his explanation for future plans and policies, according to the report.
3. After the 2001 election, 58 percent of Americans approved of President George W. Bush’s picks for Cabinet positions and high-level roles, and 50 percent approved of his ability to explain future plans.
4. Almost two-thirds of respondents think Mr. Trump is “reckless” and has “poor judgment.”
5. Thirty-eight percent of respondents believe Mr. Trump will be a “poor or terrible” president, while 35 percent say he’ll be a “good or great president,” and 18 percent think he will be an “average president,” according to the report.
6. Less than one-third said Mr. Trump is well qualified to serve as president.
