In remarks to reporters Wednesday, he said, “Healthcare is working along very well. We could have a big surprise with a great healthcare package.”
The president added, “You’re going to have a great, great surprise. It’s going to be great.”
Politico notes President Trump did not provide any additional details on the “big surprise.”
His remarks came on the same day Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., said a revised version of the Senate GOP bill is expected to go to the Congressional Budget Office Friday. Mr. McConnell hopes to have the CBO’s score of the revised version after the July 4 recess.
President Trump has said he believes Senate Republicans are ultimately “going to get at least very close” to passing an ACA repeal-and-replace bill, according to Politico. He added, “And I think we’re going to get it over the line.” A simple majority vote is needed to pass the bill in the Senate.
