Texas Children’s Hospital Opens New Campus

Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston has opened Texas Children’s Hospital West Campus in suburban Houston, according to a release by the hospital.

The West Campus is part of Texas Children’s $1.5 billion expansion, which includes the Jan and Dan Duncan Neurological Research Institute, the first multi-disciplinary research institute focused on childhood neurological disorders in the nation, and the Texas Children’s Pavilion for Women, a comprehensive obstetrics facility focusing on high-risk births.

The 515,000 square-foot facility includes a 24/7 pediatric emergency department, two ORs, 48 patient beds, advanced imaging services, a neurophysiology sleep lab, a pathology lab and a pharmacy. The attached outpatient clinic building, which opened in December 2010, offers 15 pediatric subspecialty practices as well as pediatric primary care.
