In a conference call with shareholders, Tenet Healthcare Corp. forecast earnings growth in 2011 due to expected improvement in patient volumes driven by both acquisitions and “organic” growth, according to a Reuters report.

The hospital operator also said it expects EBITDA to increase 11-16 percent from 2010 to 2015 on average revenue growth of 4-6 percent, according to the report.

Community Health Systems recently offered a $3.3 billion equity bid to acquire Tenet, which the company rebuked. Yesterday, Tenet added a “poison pill” clause to its bylaws to stave off a hostile takeover, though CHS said it would still pursue the acquisition.
