Steward to Acquire Post-Acute Provider

The Board of Trustees for New England Sinai Hospital in Stoughton, Mass., announced an agreement to allow Steward Health Care System to acquire the long-term care facility.

“Steward has a strong track record of investing substantial resources toward community health needs and expanding access to quality programs and services,” President and CEO of New England Sinai Judy Waterson said in a statement.

The move will likely strengthen Steward’s presence in the growing ACO market if it’ is finalized. The transaction must first be reviewed by the state Department of Health and the Attorney General’s Office before the merger is made official.
