Fortune ranked San Diego-based Scripps Health No. 45 on its 2017 list of 100 Best Companies to Work For. This is the 10th consecutive year Scripps Health has been included in the list.
Scripps, which is also the only San Diego-based company on Fortune's list this year, is recognized for developing a high-performing, diverse workforce and for supporting the needs of its employees at all stages of their careers.

Many employees at Scripps indicated to Fortune that they "love that their CEO answers their emails within 12 hours." They call Mr. Van Gorder a "passionate patient and community advocate."
The vast majority — 94 percent — of survey respondents at Scripps said they feel good about the ways the organization contributes to the community; 93 percent said they are proud to tell others they work at Scripps; and 92 percent said they feel a sense of pride about the work they accomplish.
