Norton Suburban Hospital in Kentucky to Become Women and Children's Hospital

Louisville, Ky.-based Norton Healthcare is rebranding its 343-bed Suburban Hospital by dedicating it to women and children, according to a Norton news release.

Norton Suburban Hospital will be split into two entities. The women's component of services will be named Norton Women's Hospital, while the pediatric component will be named Kosair Children's Hospital-St. Matthews.

The campus surrounding the hospital will also be renamed Norton Healthcare-St. Matthews Campus.

Norton Chief Development Officer Lynnie Meyer, MSN, RN, said the separate names — one for the hospital and one for the campus — reflect specific services provided at each location.

"While the hospital proper will be dedicated to an advanced model of healthcare solutions for women and children, the campus surrounding the hospital will meet the needs of the entire family through a range of specialty services for men, women and children," Ms. Meyer said in the news release.

The rebranding will continue over the next three years, according to the release.
