Gov. Lynch indicated that $500 million had been spent on hospital construction projects in the past five years, with another $50 million pending before the state CON board. In addition, he said the top 200 executives of 24 hospitals earned $600 million in combined salaries.
Gov. Lynch said reforms are necessary to decrease excessive healthcare costs. He expressed a desire for HHS to conduct a comprehensive review to determine the state’s true healthcare facility needs.
