The endorsement is not a surprise — the union previously endorsed Mr. Sanders in the 2016 election and has been vocal in its support for “Medicare for All,” the single-payer health plan proposed by the candidate, according to the report. The union’s super political action committee gave Mr. Sanders $5 million in the 2016 primary.
Union leaders told The New York Times the organization plans to back Mr. Sanders, but will not support attacks on other Democratic candidates.
