Mount Vernon Hospital Nurses Sign Contract, Accept Pay Freeze

Registered nurses at Mount Vernon (N.Y.) Hospital have signed a one-year agreement to extend their current contract, according to a Mid-Hudson News Network report.

The nurses, represented by the New York State Nurses Association, agreed to a pay freeze as part of the deal. The nurses are expected to approve the contract next week.

Mount Vernon Hospital, part of Sound Shore Health System, has struggled recently; in August, the health system laid off 80 employees to counteract declining reimbursements.
