Mesa View Regional Hospital in Nevada to Close Obstetric Services

Mesa View Regional Hospital in Mesquite, Nev., will stop offering obstetrics due to reduced demand for labor and delivery services, according to a Mesquite Citizen report.

According to the report, the number of deliveries at the hospital shrunk from 236 births in 2008 to 111 this year. The hospital will continue to offer inpatient gynecological services but labor and delivery services will only be provided in emergency cases.
