Longtime executive director of ACEP to retire

The American College of Emergency Physicians’ longtime director Dean Wilkerson is retiring July 31, 2020, the organization said Sept. 3.

His retirement will close out a more than 15-year tenure with the association. ACEP represents 40,000 emergency room physicians.

Under Mr. Wilkerson’s leadership, ACEP’s membership, legislative and regulatory advocacy, communications, clinical resources, budget, and more have seen growth. 

A search committee has been appointed and the organization will begin conducting a nationwide search for Mr. Wilkerson’s successor.
