Senate Republicans promised Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine, they would include cost-sharing subsidies in their funding package in order to secure her support for their tax bill. However, Rep. Mark Walker, R-N.C., said House Republicans were promised the opposite.
“The three things that we’ve been told are not going to happen as part of our agreement: no [cost-sharing subsidies], no [Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals], no debt limit,” Mr. Walker said, according to The Hill.
Leaders from the House and Senate are working to reconcile the differences between their tax bills, and it is unclear how differences on healthcare policy will affect that process.
