Now in its third year, the annual summit celebrates Harris Health System’s staff suggestion program, which works to improve patient care and organizational efficiencies.

This year, an automated microbiology laboratory won the Innovation of the Year award. Four other innovative ideas also received awards.

“We see innovative thinking at work every day, in every lobby and hallway, every patient room and clinic, on the loading dock and in the laboratory,” said Harris Health System President and CEO George Masi. “From every employee’s unique perspective, each has the power to inspire the innovation that is so vital to Harris Health in our mission to provide compassionate, high-quality care to our community.”

The summit’s keynote speaker was Spencer Tillman, former football play for the Houston Oilers and the San Francisco 49ers.
