CEO Michael Bass said he was “concerned about a wide array of economic challenges that have made it increasingly difficult to meet the community’s healthcare needs.”

Challenges include “a fast-growing uninsured population” that has put more than one-third of Georgia hospitals into the red and new state legislation that would require Georgia hospitals to pay a 1.45 percent fee/tax on their revenues.
