Here are three things to know about the name change.
1. The facility is now the Glenn D. Steele Jr. Hospital for Advanced Medicine.
2. Geisinger Health System Foundation Board Chairman William Alexander said Dr. Steele, who retired from the Geisinger position in May, has overseen years of progress at Geisinger, and the health system wanted to connect “the name of this innovator with the name of this building,” according to the report.
3. In addition to the name change, a new portrait of Dr. Steele now hangs in the facility lobby.
