Dean Gruner, MD. President and CEO of ThedaCare (Appleton, Wis.). Dr. Gruner was appointed to serve as president and CEO of ThedaCare in 2008 and previously held multiple leadership roles within the system, including CMO and senior vice president, since it was founded in 1987 as Novus Health Group. ThedaCare has now grown to be the third largest employer in Wisconsin. Dr. Gruner was also a founding physician and CMO for TouchPoint Health Plan, which was bought by UnitedHealthcare in 2004.
