Cleveland Clinic taps KeyCorp CEO as next board of directors chair

Cleveland Clinic selected Beth E. Mooney to serve as chair-elect of its board of directors. She will become chair of the board May 6.

Ms. Mooney is chairman and CEO of KeyCorp, a bank holding company. She joined Cleveland Clinic’s board of directors in 2009 and became vice chair in May 2018. She has served on several board committees, including as chair of the safety, quality and patient experience committee and the governance committee.

Ms. Mooney also serves on several community and corporate boards, including AT&T’s board of directors and the Bank Policy Institute.

“Beth Mooney brings a stellar financial and business acumen, a tireless commitment to the community, and a deep fundamental understanding of what makes Cleveland Clinic great and what it will take to keep it great,” said Cleveland Clinic President and CEO Tom Mihaljevic, MD.

Ms. Mooney will succeed Robert E. Rich, Jr., who has served as board chair since 2011.
