Cleveland Clinic, Case Western Reserve University launch executive MBA program

The Cleveland Clinic and Cleveland-based Case Western Reserve University have launched The Cleveland Clinic-Weatherhead Executive MBA, a master's degree program with a focus on healthcare, according to Cleveland.com.

The new executive MBA program includes instruction and practical experience in healthcare management, including leadership, strategy and innovation. Courses will be led by CWRU faculty and Cleveland Clinic Instructors.

The program is designed to better prepare physicians, senior level administrators and professionals entering the healthcare industry from other fields for healthcare leadership roles, according to the report.

"Healthcare is in the midst of an unprecedented transformation and is changing how we deliver care to patients and how we are reimbursed for services," Cleveland Clinic President and CEO Toby Cosgrove, MD, said in a release. "The focus has shifted to quality and outcomes for patients, while moving away from the traditional fee-for-service model.

The Cleveland Clinic-Weatherhead Executive MBA program is 20 months long and starts in September. Students can apply online at weatherhead.case.edu, and applications are due by June 15.
