CHC’s donations help meet local Salvation Army needs

Red kettle coins and contributions add up – improving the lives of those less fortunate. Community Hospital Corporation's 2016 donation of $40,000 to The Salvation Army Carr P. Collins Social Service Center-Dallas brings CHC's 20-year total philanthropic giving to $263,976.

CHC corporate and employee donations go toward the purchase of beds, bedframes and mattresses for individuals transitioning out of the Carr P. Collins Social Service Center shelter into their own apartment or home.

CHC's passion for helping hospitals – and individuals in need – began 20 years ago by CHC's founding President and CEO Mike Williams.

Williams reflects: "The ringing bell and red kettle are prominent from my childhood. I was raised with a responsibility to share our blessings with others. It was natural for CHC to embrace the Salvation Army as CHC's charity of choice.

"I am grateful for the opportunity to help meet the unique needs of people in our communities," Williams added. "CHC employees along with corporate giving make a meaningful difference right here, close to home."

Later this week, several CHC employees will volunteer their time with the distribution of angel tree gifts to local Salvation Army families in need, a tradition that keeps on giving.
