CEO to know: Kristin Wolkart of St. Francis Medical Center

Kristin Wolkart, RN, MHA, was named president and CEO of Monroe, La.-based St. Francis Medical Center in December 2014.

The 550-bed medical center is part of Baton Rouge, La.-based Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System. Ms. Wolkart has been with the system since 2000, when it acquired Gonzales, La.-based Riverview Hospital, which was renamed as St. Elizabeth Hospital. 

Ms. Wolkart served as vice president of patient care services at St. Elizabeth from 1995 to 2007. She later became CNIO of Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System and was appointed director of special projects in 2013. Ms. Wolkart joined the C-suite at St. Francis in April 2014 as COO. 

She is board certified as an advanced nurse executive and certified as a Green Belt in Six Sigma and a project management professional.
