Centura Health, The Larkin Group announce joint venture: 4 things to know

Englewood, Colo.-based Centura Health has formed a joint venture with The Larkin Group, a Houston-based organization that develops, owns and operates freestanding emergency centers in Texas, and provides development consulting for freestanding emergency centers or hospital departments across multiple states.

Here are four things to know about the joint venture.

1. Centura and The Larkin Group will combine their expertise “to accelerate delivery of emergency care across the Centura Health network to meet population health needs,” the organizations said.

2. As part of the joint venture, the two groups will build a sustainable system for high-value episodic care that is integrated with the Centura Health system, further aligning providers and creating systems that support improved care coordination and communication across various specialties, facilities, centers and settings, including physician practices, hospitals, urgent care, diagnostics, imaging, virtual resource centers, Health at Home, senior living and the Healthcare Clinic at select Walgreens locations.

3. Centura Health will continue to operate its freestanding emergency centers at the 84th Avenue Neighborhood Health Center in Westminster, Colo., ChurchRanchNeighborhoodHealthCenter in Westminster and Southlands in Aurora, Colo., as well as its Colorado urgent care centers in Cañon City, Colorado Springs, Cripple Creek, Durango, Monument and WoodlandPark.

4. “In an era of consumer-driven health care, we are committed to evolving our partnerships and strategies to ensure we meet the health needs of the communities we serve,” Centura Health President and CEO Gary Campbell said in a news release. “Our joint venture with The Larkin Group will accelerate our efforts to transform the health care delivery system and allow us to leverage our shared strengths to deliver high-quality, convenient urgent and emergency care.”
