The hospital is attempting to secure state and federal funds for the project as well improve the hospital’s balance sheet to increase its line of credit so that the project can move forward. The hospital has said that delays will only increase the cost of the project, according to the report.

The four-story expansion will include a new state-of-the-art emergency department.

Groundbreaking is scheduled to begin in April and is expected to be complete by 2012, according to the report.
