North Broward Hospital District, which is doing business as Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based Broward Health, elected Andrew Klein as its new chairman of the board of commissioners.
Here are four points:
1. Mr. Klein is the managing attorney at Klein Law Group.
2. He has served on the board since August 2017.
3. Previously, he served as session counsel to the New York Public Service Commission.
4. He succeeds Rocky Rodriguez, who resigned at the end of March to reportedly attend to "medical family issues and his business." Mr. Rodriguez, along with five Broward officials, was indicted in 2017 over the ouster of the health system's former CEO.
"I'm excited to welcome Commissioner Klein as our new NBHD board chairman," said Broward Health President/CEO Beverly Capasso. "He is well-qualified to lead the board and we value his decisive leadership and insight, which has been evident during his time on the board."
