As a result, the hospital will lay off 119 workers, including 44 nurses and 30 management staff, effective Oct. 1.
A spokesperson from the union that represents many of the hospital’s employees, 1199SEIU United Healthcare Workers East, said patient care access will suffer because of the state’s failure to provide “fair reimbursement for care” and that hospital management has failed to communicate a “plan for the hospital’s future,” according to the report.
