Alabama Hospital Association names new president: 3 things to know

The Alabama Hospital Association has tapped Donald Williamson, MD, as its next president, according to the American Hospital Association.

Here are three things to know about Dr. Williamson.

1. Dr. Williamson will begin his tenure as president around November.

2. He will replace current Alabama Hospital Association President Mike Horsley, who plans to retire at the end of this year.

3. Dr. Williamson currently serves as state health officer for the Alabama Department of Public Health and chairman of the Alabama Medicaid Transition Task Force.
