AHA, AMA and 6 other healthcare groups unite to bring patients into policy discussions

In the face of dramatic changes to healthcare policy, eight healthcare advocacy groups have come together to host a series of events expressing to lawmakers the importance of remembering patient needs.

The group includes the AARP, American Cancer Society Action Network, March of Dimes, American Medical Association, American Hospital Association, American Heart Association, American Diabetes Association and Federation of American Hospitals.

The group will hold events in Colorado, Ohio, Nevada, and West Virginia that will bring patients into conversation with providers. The first event will be held in Cleveland on June 15 and moderated by AMA President-Elect David Barbe, MD.
