Most adults surveyed for “A Call for Change: The 2011 Commonwealth Fund Survey of Public Views of the U.S. Health System,” reported difficulties accessing care, poor care coordination and struggles with the costs and administrative hassles of health insurance. The survey also found evidence of inefficient and wasteful delivery of healthcare services.
Nearly three in four adults responded that they worry about receiving high-quality care or paying their medical bills in the future. They favored policies that encourage more patient-centered and integrated care, and nearly 90 percent of respondents think it is important for public and private payors to work together to negotiate prices and improve quality.
