67% of Americans would support a government shutdown over CHIP

The majority of Americans think funding for the Children’s Health Insurance Program is possibly worth forcing a government shutdown, according to a Morning Consult poll.

The poll was conducted online among 1,997 registered voters between Dec. 1 and Dec. 3.

Forty-two percent of respondents agree CHIP is definitely an issue worth prompting a government shutdown while 25 percent believe it is maybe worth a shutdown.
