6 healthcare companies named among 50 most civic-minded in US

Each year, Points of Light — a nonprofit organization — honors The Civic 50, a group of the 50 most community-minded companies in the U.S.

The winners must have annual revenue of at least $1 billion. They’re selected via a survey in which individuals rank them based on four key factors: investment, integration, institutionalization and impact.

For 2016, six healthcare and pharmaceutical companies made the list.

  • AbbVie
  • Aetna
  • Baxter International
  • Eli Lilly and Company
  • Health Care Service Corporation
  • UnitedHealth Group
