58% of voters want federal judge's ruling against ACA to stand

In a Hill-HarrisX poll, most voters supported a Texas federal judge's decision to rule the ACA unconstitutional in the Texas v. United States lawsuit.

In December, U.S. District Judge Reed O'Connor ruled the ACA unconstitutional on the grounds that the individual mandate penalty is unconstitutional and inseverable from the law. Fifty-eight percent of respondents said the ruling should stand, compared to 43 percent who said the ACA should stand, according to a report from The Hill based on the poll results.

Among those who supported the ruling, 31 percent said the current administration should create a new healthcare policy, while 27 percent said healthcare should return to its state prior to the ACA.
