The clinic opening is in response to the departure of Wesley Medical Center’s pediatric surgeon. Wesley will contract with seven pediatric surgeons in Sedgwick County to cover pediatric surgery needs until it finds another pediatric surgeon to fill the position. The medical center is also consulting with its other surgeons to determine if they can take on some pediatric surgery cases temporarily.

The clinic will be open two days a week and will mostly provide consultations and pos-surgery check-ups.
