Tara Henderson, MD, has been tapped as physician-in-chief of pediatrics for Yale New Haven (Conn.) Health System.
Dr. Henderson will also serve as chair of the Department of Pediatrics at Yale School of Medicine and chief of pediatrics for Yale New Haven Hospital, according to an Aug. 11 news release.
Her appointments are effective Oct. 1, pending board approval.
Dr. Henderson currently serves as chair of pediatrics at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago and Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, also in Chicago. She holds the Founders’ Board Centennial Chair of Pediatrics.
Dr. Henderson spent almost 20 years at UChicago Medicine, serving as section chief of pediatric hematology, oncology and cellular therapies, director of cancer survivorship, and co-leader of the Cancer Prevention and Control Program within the UChicago Comprehensive Cancer Center. She was the Arthur and Marian Edelstein Professor of Pediatrics and founded UChicago’s Childhood, Adolescent, and Young Adult Cancer Survivor Program, the release said.
