The former chief clinical officer of Philadelphia-based Temple University Health System, Daniel del Portal, MD, has been named executive vice president and CCO of Yale New Haven (Conn.) Health.
As Temple’s CCO and senior vice president of medical operations, Dr. del Portal helped develop and grow the system’s capacity management center and launch the systemwide addiction medicine service line, according to a Sept. 9 news release.
At Yale New Haven Health, a five-hospital system, he will oversee pharmacy, laboratory, rehabilitative therapies and diagnostic imaging, case management and care coordination. He will also strategically grow Yale New Haven’s clinical enterprise, the release said.
Dr. del Portal will assume the position Oct. 5.
