WVU Medicine East CEO Anthony Zelenka to retire

Martinsburg, W.Va.-based WVU Medicine East President and CEO Anthony P. Zelenka will retire June 30.

Mr. Zelenka is a 12-year veteran of Morgantown, W.Va.-based WVU Medicine.

He was president and CEO of Berkeley Medical Center in Martinsburg for seven years and  in 2015 was tapped to helm Berkeley and Jefferson Medical Center in Ranson, W. Va. Berkeley and Jefferson Medical Center are both part of WVU Medicine East. 

“It has been a pleasure and honor to have served in an administrative capacity for WVU Medicine East for the past 12 years,” Mr. Zelenka said in a news release. “During that time, the local board of directors and WVU Medicine have been extremely supportive of my leadership, which has allowed for tremendous growth of the patient market in Berkeley and Jefferson counties.”

Mr. Zelenka’s successor has not been named.
