Western Plains Medical Complex selects permanent CEO: 4 things to know

Dodge City, Kan.-based Western Plains Medical Complex appointed Scott Smith permanent CEO.

Here are four things to know:

1. Mr. Smith has served as interim CEO of the hospital since August.

2. He previously served as CEO of Mercy Regional Medical Center in Ville Platte, La., and its Acadian Medical Center campus in Eunice, La., as well as Louisiana market president for Brentwood, Tenn.-based LifePoint Health, the hospitals' parent. Western Plains Medical Complex is also part of the LifePoint family.

3. He has also served as CEO of Bolivar Medical Center in Cleveland, Miss., and Teche Regional Medical Center in Morgan City, La.

4. Mr. Smith holds a master's degree in business administration and management from Belhaven University in Jackson, Miss.
