West Hills Hospital & Medical Center hires CMO: 3 points

West Hills (Calif.) Hospital & Medical Center tapped Yale D. Podnos, MD, to serve as CMO, effective Aug. 1.

Here are three points:

1. Dr. Podnos served most recently as department of surgery chairman at Raleigh, N.C.-based UNC Rex Healthcare.

2. He previously served as chief of the surgical oncology division and as a member of the medical faculty at Duke University School of Medicine in Durham, N.C.

3. A liver and pancreas cancer specialist, he completed a fellowship in surgical oncology at Duarte, Calif.-based City of Hope.
