WellStar Atlanta Medical Center picks new leader: 3 things to know

Kim Ryan has been named president of WellStar Atlanta Medical Center and its south campus in East Point, Ga., according to an Atlanta Business Chronicle report.

Here are three things to know about Ms. Ryan.

1. Ms. Ryan previously was CEO and president of Southern Regional Medical Center in Riverdale, Ga.

2. She also previously was CEO of Eastside Medical Center in Snellville, Ga., and principal COO of Tulane Medical Center in New Orleans, where she led operations during Hurricane Katrina, according to the report.

3. Ms. Ryan’s appointment comes after Marietta, Ga.-based WellStar Health System completed its acquisition of Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare’s five metro Atlanta hospitals.
