Y. Michael Shim, MD, has been named chief of the division of pulmonary and critical care medicine at Weill Cornell Medicine and NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center, both in New York City, effective April 1.
In the role, Dr. Shim, a physician-scientist, will lead a team of physicians and scientists focused on advancing clinical care, support the growth of translational research and increase hands-on education for staff, according to a March 23 system news release. He will also expand access to comprehensive pulmonary and advanced lung disease care across Weill Cornell Medicine-affiliated NewYork-Presbyterian campuses.
Dr. Shim will succeed Dana Zappetti, MD, and Kyu Rhee, MD, PhD, who served as interim leaders
