Virginia Mason picks SVP of strategy and business development: 3 things to know

Seattle-based Virginia Mason Health System has named Kerry Shannon senior vice president of strategy and business development.

Here are three things to know about Ms. Shannon.

1. She has three decades of management consulting experience.

2. She spent the last 18 months consulting with Virginia Mason to evaluate strategic opportunities.

3. In her new role, she will evaluate, develop and implement growth and business development strategies “that align with and enhance organizational priorities and strategic direction,” Virginia Mason said.

4. Ms. Shannon earned a master’s degree in bioethics and health policy from Loyola Stritch School of Medicine in Maywood, Ill. She also earned a master’s degree in industrial relations from Loyola University of Chicago.
